Hexa

// Automotive design

As part of our 6th. semester industrial design class at the university, we worked in collaboration with BASF to design a public transport solution for Mexico City with a prospective for 2030.

The concept arises from the different current problems of transport users. We obtained our insights thanks to exhaustive research not only of the city and the average user but also of handicapped users, by thoroughly experiencing their situation in these types of vehicles.

This is how Hexa was born. It's the redesign of the Mexico City Metrobus.

We focus on the city's Metrobus because we consider that it has already a great starting point and we believe that it can be the pioneer that's going to improve the experience of public transport in the whole city.

We understand that a large part of the problems is due to human behavior, which is why design, beyond promoting an innovative experience, seeks a behavioral change in the user. Our goal is to create a culture shift in the user's mind.

We focus on saving time by being organized with an effective transition. We create an efficient space with inclusivity and security mechanisms that allow behavioral transformation.

Hexa brings a whole new design, as it goes beyond aesthetics. It has new logistics, signage, seats, experience, among others. Although it is an ambitious proposal, it manages to adapt to the current infrastructure of Mexico City and the existing stations for this type of vehicle.

Hexa maintains the articulation without losing its surface. The concept is based on an autonomous vehicle, which we believe it's the future.
